The MCLC's response to the Two-Game Proposal was 'negative-ghost rider'. Consequently, Mt. Adams will become a local club and leave the MCLC. About four months ago the chairmen of Mt. Adams felt the MCLC travel requirement were too heavy and leaving the MCLC was the best course of action. Chairman McDonald tried the Two-Game Proposal as a mutually beneficial compromise, but it wasn't to be. Several teams in the West and one or two in the East just weren't interested. What does this mean for our membership? Good things! No more travelling to Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Toledo, etc for away games. We will have to put together our own schedule, but we were doing that already in that the MCLC usually goofed the schedule and we had to rework it. We will focus more on games with local colleges, clubs and tournaments. Stay tuned for our fall-ball schedule--it should be out before September 1st. |
