Distinguished Alumni, I give you the following details for the weekend activities: Friday May 29th 6:00 pm - Team Throw Around at Ye Olde Soccer Stadium. Bring your checkbook - I will be collecting donation checks from each of you for the amount you specified to me via email. If you haven't specified an amount, I will ask you for the minimum contribution of $35. You're not expecting to play and eat for free, are you? We will have team gear to pass out. There will be a $10 charge from each player for the gear. Unfortunately, we didn't collect enough money through donations to support the team gear purchase, payment of game officials, and post-game party. No $10 = No gear. Can someone bring some lax balls? My flight arrives at 6pm, so I'll be late to practice. 7:15ish pm - Gather at Quaker Steak and Lube Through the strong negotiating skills of a very, sexy, old man named Sperb, we have arranged for Happy Hour to be extended to us until 9pm that evening. Reminder: Everyone is responsible for their own food/bar tab Friday evening. Saturday May 30th 2:00 pm - Face-off (4th Annual Alumni Game) The game is currently penciled in at the NEW Soccer stadium (Appropriately named Alumni Field), not the old stadium where the previous nights practice is being held. We have word from the University that we can use this field, unless it rains the day before or the day of the game and/or maintenance activities are scheduled on the field. If we can't play at the new stadium, we will play at the old stadium. You can thank our resident broker, Mr. Schwieterman, for securing this field. We'll be able to confirm which field we're playing on at Friday night's practice, so stay tuned. Wright State Alumni Field We will be wearing our WHITE shorts and those sweet socks Jose purchased for the team. Also, bring your alumni pennie from last year. We won't need it, but the current team may need the white side as our team jersey's are green this year. My understanding is that the current team only has green jersey's. Arriving 45 minutes to an hour before the game is recommended. Post-Game 4:00ish pm - Gather at Quaker Steak and Lube (Round II) Again, Sperb has negotiated cheap eats to the tune of an endlessly stocked buffet (for 1.5 hrs). The proceeds from the Alumni Donations will pay for the food (Current team and our family members included). Since the lube doesn't have kegs (beer in a bottle only), we are unable to pay for beer in advance. So, everyone is responsible for their own bar tab. Might want to get yer stick out and check the stringing for holes or frayed sidewalls. Lastly, if anyone is driving by the Dayton Airport around 6pm Friday the 29th (and wants to be late to practice), let me know. Questions? #54 kroegerkeithD1NG@D0NGyahoo.com |
